Behind the Lens with Optiscan Imaging: Creating Global Medical Content with Purpose

At Videoshift Media, we love working with brands that are pushing technology forward, and Optiscan Imaging is doing exactly that. As a global leader in handheld digital microscopic imaging, Optiscan is transforming how clinicians and researchers see the world — literally down to a single cell.

Their technology delivers live, real-time, 3D imaging inside the human body without the need for destructive sampling. It’s fast, it’s precise, and it empowers medical professionals to make immediate, informed decisions. In short, Optiscan is on a mission to revolutionise healthcare through better clarity, earlier detection, and smarter outcomes.

So when they approached us to create a suite of product explainer videos for their global medical audience, we knew we were stepping into something special.

Our goal was to produce a series of high-end explainer videos across Optiscan’s product range.

A Multi-Video Campaign for a Global Medical Community

These videos would be used internationally, giving medical professionals a clear, engaging, and visually compelling look at each device’s unique capabilities.

To achieve this, we combined:

  • Clinical storytelling

  • Motion graphics

  • Live demonstrations

  • Interviews with surgeons, clinicians, and industry experts

  • Clean, modern music and pacing

Every video needed to communicate not just what the product does, but why it matters — and how it changes patient care.

Live Patient Demonstrations and Multi-Room Streaming

One of the most fascinating parts of this project was the live demonstration environment.

On set, we operated multiple live-streamed rooms simultaneously while a real patient demonstration took place. This allowed us to capture the product in action in a clinical flow, without staging or recreations. Authenticity is everything when speaking to medical professionals, so showing the technology exactly as it’s used was essential.

The result was dynamic, real-world footage paired with clean motion graphics that break down complex concepts visually and simply.

Inside the Operating Room: Filming the Inspecta in Action

For Optiscan’s Inspecta product, we travelled to a specialist eye veterinary clinic in Melbourne to document its use during live ophthalmic surgery.

Watching the device in action — and filming the surgeon accessing microscopic structures in real time — gave us powerful, visceral visuals that no studio shoot could replicate.

The footage became a centrepiece of the INSPECTA video, supported by expert commentary from the veterinary surgeon and other clinicians who use Optiscan products daily.

Bringing It All Together

Across the campaign, we blended interviews, surgical footage, field demonstrations, motion graphics, and product UI overlays to highlight the specific advantages of each device.

Each video needed to serve as both a technical resource and a compelling brand story — something that would resonate equally in hospital conference rooms, medical events, research settings, and international presentations.

Optiscan’s team was incredible to collaborate with, offering deep insight into each product’s purpose and clinical impact. These videos now serve as cornerstone marketing assets for their global rollout.
